Local Take Aways // A SappyFest Mini Doc

WHO: Featuring Chad Vangaalen, CAMP, The Magic, Joseph & The Mercurials, Weirdo Click, The Underachievers & more.

Many say proudly that SappyFest is non-corporate and grassroots. This follows the festival’s vision and has proved successful in nearly every way this year, just not financially.

The SappyFest crew is asking for your help by launching an indiegogo campaign. They’re creating a 160-page coffee table book called “SappyForever,” including photos, essays, and a complete visual history of the art SappyFest celebrates.

In 2006 (Sappy’s first year), the festival welcomed a small but passionate group of 250 festival-goers. From there, the SappyFest idea grew and grew. They’re using this magic number and asking 250 people to buy this book at $100 to raise $25,000 in order to pay off the debt.

“This has been an incredibly difficult year for our organization. It may take time for SappyFest to rebuild, but we are committed to do so,” reads their indiegogo campaign page.
