SAID THE WHALE / ALVVAYS

- The five-piece has a new full-length album, Hawaii, just released last month.
- Said The Whale are just beginning a Canada-wide tour to support new album, Hawaii.
- They won a JUNO Award in 2011 for New Group of the Year and have had nationally charting singles.
- Supporting the Nov. 5th Fredericton show is Toronto’s pop-rockers Alvvays.
- They’ve performed with the likes of Wintersleep to recording with Canadian legend, Chad VanGaalen.
- Alvvays will have their catchy melodies stuck in your head for days.

 THE TRAGICALLY HIP’S PAUL LANGLOIS

- Starting in Fredericton on Nov. 14, Peppers Pub Nov. 16 and continuing across Canada, the ‘Not Guilty’ album release tour will finish in Langlois’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario Dec. 21.
- Not Guilty is Langlois’ sophomore album self-produced through his record label Ching Music.
- The 23-date tour will feature special guests Greg Ball and his band in addition to Australia’s million-selling singer-songwriter Pete Murray.
- Langlois has a total of 14 JUNO Awards, an induction into Canada’s Hall of Fame and over 12 albums recorded with The Tragically Hip.

DAVID FRANCEY

- David Francey is a Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter who has become known as “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers” (Toronto Star).
- When he was in his 40s, Francey released his first album “Torn Screen Door” (1999). Since then, he’s released 10 albums and won three Juno Awards.
- For decades, Francey worked across Canada in rail yards, construction sites and in the Yukon bush. The whole time writing poetry, setting it to melodies in his head and singing it to himself as he worked.
- His songs are sung like a documentary of his life, drawing on experiences he had while travelling and working.
- He’s now touring Canada and the U.S. in support of his latest album, So Say We All.

KEITH HALLETT

- NB’s Keith Hallett won the Harvest CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award in 2007.
- He was nominated for Maple Blues Award for new artist of the year at only 17 years old.
- Hallett is a household name in the East Coast blues scene.
- This show features Keith Hallett with Hammond organ phenom Pete Rioux, Ray Jay Junior on bass and Chuck Bucket on drums.

NB MUSICIANS EMERGE FESTIVAL

- Friday, November 15th (7PM – 11PM): Featuring MC Trevor Muxworthy of the Fredericton United Comedy Collective + 5 emerging musicians/bands.
- Saturday, November 16th (7:30PM – 11:30PM):  Featuring MC Bondo of CHSR fame + an improvised performance featuring all of the festival performers + 3 emerging musicians/bands.
- Performers: Adam Mowery, The Waking Night , Goofetroope, PASTEL SKELETON, The Shorty Tubbs, David R. Elliott, Celestial Sunrise, Betty Time.
