Fredericton Shines In This Year’s CBC Searchlight
CBC is looking for Canada’s best new musical act and 25 finalists from each region have been announced.
The contest is a voting-based competition run by CBC Music and CBC Radio One. The prizes include $20,000 worth of music equipment from Yamaha Canada Music, a professional recording with CBC Music and guest appearance on the bill with Tegan and Sara and Spoon at the CBCMusic.ca Festival in Vancouver.
The Fredericton region includes the city and its surrounding areas such as Moncton, Saint John etc. The city’s performers who made the cut include, but are not limited to, garage blues rockers Kill Chicago, Josh Bravener, bluegrassy Sawmill Creek and folk rocker Andy Brown.
